Meet The Team

Dr. Stephen Tomasetti runs the coastal environmental science lab at UMES. He is into shellfish, structured habitats, sensors, and supporting students in science.

Owen Skirtich is interested in fisheries science and aquaculture. For his current research, he examines the interactions of oyster aquaculture and seagrass. He enjoys playing ultimate frisbee on the beach in his free time.

Alexandria Camp plans to continue her education and pursue a master's degree in forensic science. She is a native of Fort Riley, Kansas and has lived around the world. Her passion is positively impacting the lives of others. 

Eli Harmon-Ward enjoys fishing and learning about the environment. He is eager to apply his hobbies to research. As a lab member, he aims to gain research experience, expand his knowledge, and prepare for his next steps post graduation.

Ava Fleming wants to use her passion and interest in marine life to further her education. She is excited to delve into research and develop new skills and knowledge.

Anthony Taylor has fishers on both sides of his family and has found his calling in marine science. He is excited to be doing marine research at the college level, and looks forward to gaining experience.
